By Airman 1st Class Breonna Veal 633rd Air Base Wing Public Affairs

The 2014 Joint Base Langley-Eustis Warrior Olympics is Sept. 12, with the opening ceremony beginning at 8 a.m. on the Langley Air Force Base parade field.

This base-wide sports day is a one-day event created to promote morale, teamwork and camaraderie among U.S. Air Force squadrons and U.S. Army battalions.

Active-duty Service members are highly-encouraged to attend, and civilians are welcome to participate.

Sporting and events will include soccer, basketball, volleyball, weight-lifting, relay races and more. The number of entries is limited for some sports, so Service members should register with an event sponsor. The event will also feature food, free-of-charge.

For more information or to sign up, contact a unit sports representative, U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Michelle Filmore at 574-1779, Staff Sgt. Patrick Hart at 575-9636 or Senior Airman Rosemary Williams at 574-8481.
