JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. –
U.S. Air Force Airmen toured the 633rd Logistics Readiness Squadron as part of the Airmen Exchange Program at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, Sept. 29.
"The purpose of the Airmen Exchange Program is to give Airmen an idea of what LRS is all about and how each flight contributes to the LRS mission," said Senior Airman Jasmery Contreras, 633rd LRS Vehicle Management and Analysis technician.
Originally, the program gave members of 633rd LRS the opportunity to learn about all the aspects of LRS to include, quality assurance, mobility, inventory and more.
"Recently, we have opened the Airmen Exchange Program to the whole base in order to give other Airmen the chance to learn about LRS," said Contreras. "If someone wants to cross-train into a flight such as logistics, this opens up the door for them to learn about what that flight does."
The 633rd Air Base Wing and LRS services the 1st Fighter Wing, Headquarters Air Combat Command, 49 tenant units and six Department of Defense installations, providing $580 million worth of materiel management, transportation, mobility and fuels.
Contreras hopes Airmen who participate in the bi-annual program take away the importance of the 633rd LRS and how they contribute to the mission.
