Fort Eustis trains on NCOER system

By TRADOC Human Resources

Members of U.S. Army Human Resources Command conducted noncommissioned officer evaluation report training for all Soldier and civilian supervisors at Fort Eustis July 15 and 16, 2015.

The training covered the forms' evaluation policy updates, maintaining and forecasting senior rater profiles and use of the Entry Evaluation System, or EES, that captures the changes.

The changes presented in the training will enable leaders to more clearly assess and identify the Army's best talent by eliminating inflation in the rating process and encouraging self-improvement, said Mary Ann Smith, Training and Doctrine Command human resources specialist.

According to Smith, the fundamental changes NCOs will encounter are:

· Increased report forms based on rank and grade
· Direct-level reporting to assess ratees
·  Organization-level report to assess E-6s to E-8s
· Strategic-level report to assess sergeant majors and command sergeant majors.

The new NCOER support form is projected to be available in EES 90 days prior to implementation so that Soldiers can familiarize themselves with the changes, and rating officials can begin counseling and documenting the NCO's performance.

Training on the new NCOER will continue throughout the summer. For more information or to schedule a refresher training, call 501-6836/6851 or 757-878-5112.
