Vet, Dental Clinics team up to treat MWDs
U.S. Air Force Maj. Scott Seago, endodontics chief assigned to the 633rd Dental Squadron, U.S. Army Capt. Andrew Chambers, veterinary service officer, and Sgt. Jasmine Moore, noncommissioned officer in charge assigned to Public Health Command Branch Fort Eustis, work together to perform a root canal on a 633rd Security Forces Squadron military working dog (MWD) at the veterinary clinic at Langley Air Force Base, Va., Jan. 27, 2016. While humans only require local anesthesia or mild sedation for a root canal procedure, a MWD requires full general anesthesia to avoid any risk of injury to the animal or Service members performing the procedure.
