JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. –
The Langley Club is scheduled to begin relocating to the Bayview Commonwealth Center April 25, 2016, at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia.
The move will make way for structural renovations slated to begin May 2 and last approximately one year.
According to Anne Pabon, Langley Club manager, once up and running, the temporary relocation will not interrupt normal club operations and she and her staff will continue to host meals and special events for the Joint Base Langley-Eustis community.
"The only difference is one Friday we will serve dinner at the club, and the next we'll serve it at the Bayview Commonwealth Center," she said. "Our club provides a place for our Airmen to hang out and celebrate. We plan to continue serving our community."
The renovations are part of upkeep aimed to update and improve the building's infrastructure including plumbing, electrical and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
Pabon said the renovations are pivotal to the club's future.
"To preserve the heritage of our club, we must maintain it," she said. "This will allow us to continue to provide our guests the best service possible."
The Langley Club opened May 6, 2011, after consolidating Langley's enlisted and officers clubs in a centralized location, in an effort to gain significant efficiencies in overhead while enabling the club to generate capital.
