JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. –
The 33rd Marine Firefighting Symposium is a training course designed to challenge attendees and their ability to combine awareness and operations training while performing defensive level operations for a marine incident. The National Defense Reserve Fleet, known as the “ghost fleet”, was the training site for the symposium where firefighters loaded necessary gear and equipment to address marine emergencies in a simulated environment. More than 100 firefighters from across the world received over 50 hours of classroom and practical training which included operating in the marine environment and vessel familiarization.
