LANGLEY AFB, VA. –
The 1st Fighter Wing Hospital phone menu will change Sept. 16.
The new menu system will reduce the amount of time it takes callers to navigate the menu, will have shorter recordings, fewer options and easy-to-remember extension codes.
For example, patients must currently navigate through five menu options to reach the primary care clinic; the new system will get them there in three.
The number to the main line is 225-7630. To reach any of the clinics, patients will continue to call the main hospital number and then navigate the new menu system to get to their clinic.
When the caller becomes familiar with the new, shorter extension code for their clinic, they can key the extension at anytime during their call.
For example, if contacting the Pediatric Clinic, they would first dial 225-7630 and then the extension code for the Pediatric Clinic (43). For patients calling for an appointment, they would first dial 225-7630 and then the extension code for appointments (41).
A complete list of all extension codes for all the clinics will be handed out at the information desk located at the main hospital entrance and at www.tricareonline.
