LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. –
An accident involving two motor vehicles at the Langley Air Force Base Bethel Manor gas station occurred April 19 at about 5:30 p.m. A fire resulted from the accident, engulfing both vehicles and fuel pumps in flames. The York County and base fire departments responded to the scene to extinguish the fire. The adjacent Bethel Manor youth center was temporarily evacuated as a precautionary measure. 10,000 gallons of foam and 5,000 gallons of water was used.
There were no injuries or residual fuel spilled as a result of the accident thanks to the quick response of the York County Fire Department.
