Meet the new commander - 480th Intelligence Wing

The 480th Intelligence Group welcomed its newest commander June 22.

Name: Col. James R. Marrs 

Previous assignment: Commander of the National Security Agency/Central Security Service Texas and the 543rd Intelligence Group 

Time in service: 20 years

Commissioning source: U.S. Air Force Academy

Family: Wife and son

Hobbies: Running, snow skiing and flying 

Why the 480th IW is important to the Air Force mission:
We're the Air Force Lead Wing for Distributed Common Ground System Operations, Geospatial Intelligence, and Intelligence products for combat mission planning and execution.

Goals for new position:
- To keep providing the world-class intelligence this wing is known for 
- Continue to innovate with Air Force, joint, and intel community partners
- Take care of our Airmen.
