Langley looks to lease signings

Langley is steadily climbing the rungs of the housing privatization project ladder, achieving a steady stance on lease signing.

To mark the milestone, Col. Mark Barrett, 1st Fighter Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. James MacKinley, 1st FW command chief, signed the first privatized housing leases here July 9.

Beginning July 17, Langley housing residents will follow suit in the next phase of privatization, with lease signings scheduled for the following dates and times:

July 17 - Residents with the last name beginning with the A through G can sign leases from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Langley Community Center and from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Bethel Manor Youth Center.
July 18 - Residents with the last name beginning with H through O can sign leases from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Langley Community Center and from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Bethel Manor Youth Center.
July 19 - Residents with the last name beginning with the P through Z can sign leases from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Langley Community Center and from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Bethel Manor Youth Center.

Both the servicemember and his or her spouse must be present to sign the lease. If servicemembers can't be present, the spouse will need a general power of attorney to sign the lease on behalf of the servicemember. Leases can be downloaded at www.langleyfamilyhousing.com.

Editor's note: Langley privatization community information meetings are scheduled for July 12 at the base theater from 9 to 10:30 a.m., 1 to 2:30 p.m. and 3 to 4:30 p.m. Due to the limited amount of space, the housing office requests the meetings be limited to adults only.
