LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. –
The second annual Langley Officers' Spouses Club Charitable Golf Tournament ended on a swing, surpassing their previous year's fundraiser total of $3,600.
The more than $4,800 raised from the tournament will be used for the LOSC scholarship fund.
"It was a great success," said Laurie Frampton, LOSC golf tournament coordinator. "We're thrilled to be able to make a difference in peoples' lives through our scholarship fund.
According to the LOSC Web site, there are two types of scholarships: one for graduating high school students and one for spouses who aren't members of the LOSC.
The dollar amount of each scholarship award varies depending on how much money the club is able to raise by March; last year, there were seven awards presented, which ranged between $1,000 to $2,000, according to the site.
