LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. –
Here are the weekly updates for Langley's Intramural Bowling League and the PBA Experience League:
Intramural report:
The sports fan is witnessing parity creep into all of today's professional sports. Some will say that baseball isn't that way. Yes, the Yankees made the post season but for the fourth year in a row they were ousted in the first round of the playoffs. Now it appears that parity has crept into the ranks of the intramural bowling league. The season is still young and right now any team could move up to win by the end of the schedule. Case in point, last year's regular season winner, ACC A2 "B" team seemed poised to beat Jeff Meharg's AMXS "C" team by handily winning the first two games. Hold the phone - in game three, Big Stank, Monty Hall and Meharg each rolled 40+ pins over average to not only beat the beleaguered A2 team but also take total pins for a 4 - 4 split. Granted, this match wasn't a battle for the top, but 8 points for A2 would have put them in a solid position - 10 behind the leaders. As for the scores, Rich Riddle again made a statement for 1 CS by throwing a 257 game on the way to a 664 series.

PBA Experience League begins
The bowlers continue to be tested each week and just when people think they know what's going on ... BAM ... things change. The oil pattern hasn't changed yet; but the way the shot plays seems to change each week. The one person that really showed some mastery of the SHARK pattern last week was Rob Cresic. He led all bowlers with an earth shattering 255 game and 624 series. So much for that handicap he had last week. There are two more weeks on the SHARK pattern and then the league will crown a champion of the pattern. Plaques were donated to the bowling center to display the winning team for each pattern. The leagues progress can be tracked on the Web at www.bowl.com, under the heading of "standing sheets" enter ID number 9781.
