LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. –
Intramural bowling season has been changed this season to 15 weeks out of the originally scheduled 34 weeks due to the bowling center closing on Dec. 20 for remodeling. The league has completed nine weeks as of this past Wednesday. Teams are making that final charge to either win the regular season or make it to the top 16 for the base championship. For the past six years, no team has won both the regular season and the base championship.
One of the top feats in bowling is to bowl that perfect game of 12 strikes in a row for a perfect 300 game. Rich Riddle, 1 CS 'B', came up a little short this week. He put together the first eight strikes before missing the ninth one to finish 85 pins over his average with a 275 game.
Venus Spencer, 1 FSS 'B', lead the way with 79 pins over her average with a 214 game for the ladies. She ended up with a 119 pins over her series average with a 524 series.
High scores from Oct. 15:
■ Men - Series: Rich Riddle - 615, Jim Owens - 587, Ronald Whited - 576. Game: Rich Riddle 275, Nate Shaw - 245, Jeremy Wulff - 224, Jim Owens - 224.
