"Surrounded by Heroes"

1st Fighter Wing Public Affairs

U.S. Joint Forces Command will host its 13th annual "Salute to Veterans"
concert at 7 p.m. Nov. 8. at Norfolk's Chrysler Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

This year the Air Force Heritage of America Band from Langley will perform in the concert. The theme of the concert is "Surrounded by Heroes."

The Heritage of America Band has a long history of entertaining the American public and promoting esprit de corps within the military. The unit strives to inspire the hearts and minds of our men and woman serving around the world and to tell the Air Force story through the power of music.

Consisting of several unique musical ensembles, the Heritage of America Band performs for over one million people throughout a six-state region from Pennsylvania to South Carolina each year.

This performance also features military bands, made up of select members from the U.S. Army TRADOC Band, Fort Monroe; U.S. Fleet Forces Band, Norfolk; Marine Detachment, Armed Forces School of Music, Little Creek; and the New London, Conn. based U.S. Coast Guard Band.

The concert is free but tickets are required. Tickets are available at local military installations' tickets and tours offices and at Chrysler Hall's Ticket Box Office and online at www.jfcom.mil.
