Opportunity opens for retired, reserve rated officers

By Maj. Robert Schabron 1st Force Support Squadron

The rapid expansion of Unmanned Aircraft Systems, along with other rated requirements has opened a unique opportunity for many retired and Air Reserve Component Officers to return to active duty. These individuals will play a pivotal role in supporting the Global War on Terrorism.

The application process for returning to duty is available immediately and will remain open until the end of the calendar year. The age requirements and commitment of applicants depends on status and all applicants will meet a recall board for screening and selection. Selected members will not be eligible for promotion, and will be subject to deployment. Those applying must be under 60 years of age if retired and under 62 if reserve or guard.
