Military Saves Campaign kicks off at Langley

The Military Saves Campaign will kick off Feb. 26 and run until March 4. 

The campaign targets the military population and their families and encourages savings, financial stability, and a sound financial foundation. 

Military Saves promotes:
· Developing a personal financial plan.
· Establishing good credit.
· Increase in the Thrift Savings Plan enrollment.
· Increasing savings.
· Increasing financial awareness.
· Basic budgeting.
· Debt management.

The following is a list of Military Saves Campaign events: 

A Financial Information Fair is scheduled for Feb. 18 at the base exchange. Resources on, retirement planning, estate planning, saving for college, identity theft, credit reports, credit scores, compound interest, and savings will be available. 

A Financial Expo is scheduled for Feb. 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Airman and Family Readiness Center lobby. Booths will feature financial partners Langley Federal Credit Union, USAA, SunTrust Bank, the finance office, and the A&FRC. 

Down, Set, Hike is an informal finance seminar scheduled for Feb. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Eagle's Wing Career Development Center. The class will include games and financial briefings. There will also be prizes of two $100 savings bonds. To register, contact the A&FRC at 764-3990. 

A Manage Your Money with Confidence seminar is scheduled for Feb. 27 in the 1st Force Support Squadron auditorium, building 15, room 203. Participants will learn practical, common sense approaches to managing money, retirement planning, saving incentives, and home foreclosures. To register, contact the A&FRC at 764-3990. 

A Money Talk for Spouses seminar is scheduled for March 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bethel Manor Chapel. There will be briefings on basic budgeting, debt management, the cost of credit, credit reports, identity theft, credit scams/internet scams, tax center, Bundles for Babies program, child care for permanent chance of station moves, Give Parents a Break program, The HAP Arnold Scholarship, child care for volunteers, resume writing, and deployed spouses events.
