LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va –
The 480th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing commander presented awards for exemplary service to civilian members of the wing transition team here Sept. 11.
"You all worked very hard for a very long time," said Col. Dan Johnson, 480th ISR Wing commander during the presentation ceremony. "I really appreciate all the sacrifices you made to get the job done."
The transition team worked tirelessly from January 2008 to May 2009 transitioning the wing from Headquarters Air Combat Command to the Air Force ISR Agency, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.
"One of the biggest challenges for the transition team was to pick up nine new mission sets and ensure a seamless transition without having a negative impact on our new customers," said Don Hensley, 480th ISR Wing Plans and Programs chief and wing transition team leader.
The 480th ISR Wing went from a two-group wing to a five-group wing with a total increase of a 2,000 personnel.
