LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. –
2010 is an exciting year as it's the Year of the Air Force Family. What better way to celebrate than with the premiere entertainment showcase of the U.S. Air Force - Tops in Blue.
This year, we are pleased to present a free and open to the public Tops in Blue production at the Hampton Roads Convention Center Feb. 9. We are teaming together with the City of Hampton in honor of their 400th anniversary.
"The timing is perfect not only for our on-base family, but also to have an opportunity to extend an invitation to our local community, who are strong supporters of our military members and their families," said James Murrell, Langley Community Center director and Tops in Blue coordinator.
Tops in Blue will present "To Dream," an action-packed adventure of music and dance that invites audiences to follow their dreams, whatever they may be. You'll hear hot Latin sounds, All-American country music, Broadway show favorites, and hits from the top of the charts. Combine the dazzling lights, costumes and precision choreography for which Tops in Blue is known worldwide, and you can look forward to a show that's sure to please everyone.
Imagine performers that must master instrumental, vocal, choreography, and staging requirements of the show. In addition, they also must become highly accomplished in the intricate technical skills needed to support the tour.
They are, in essence, their own "road crew." They have an aggressive touring schedule spanning more than 120 locations, and entertaining forward deployed troops in various locations like Iraq, Qatar, Afghanistan and Kuwait.
This "must-see" show is powerful and promises to be unforgettable. The Convention Center doors will open Feb. 9 at 5:45 p.m.; show time is at 6:30 p.m.
