By Monica Miller Rodgers Fort Eustis Public Affairs

The 733d Mission Support Group activation ceremony will be 2:33 p.m. Jan. 29, at the Fort Eustis Club.

The 733d MSG will be under Congress' 2005 Base Realignment and Closure decision to create Joint Base Langley-Eustis.

The 733d MSG and the 633d MSG, which are responsible for installation support functions at Langley Air Force Base, along with the 633d Medical Group comprise the 633d Air Base Wing that was activated Jan. 7 at Langley AFB.

Joint basing consolidates installation support functions of various military installations in an effort to save taxpayers' dollars while ensuring war-fighting capabilities are preserved. Fort Eustis and Langley AFB, along with 24 other installations nationwide are undergoing the joint basing process.
