More acronyms? 82d CSS strives to limit confusion with KO tools

By Valerie Wilder 82d Communications Support Squadron

Service members may have noticed several new icons on desktops or heard about acronyms like TMT, EMS, and OCS - Air Combat Command is delivering many new collaborative tools to our Airmen.

Recently, the command rolled out IGNITE ACC, which focused on empowering Airmen with the capabilities to advance ACC culture into a knowledge-enabled organization.

We recognize that we need to provide additional training and assistance to our Airman to ensure we all take advantage of the tools available to us; therefore, on March 15, the 82d Communications Support Squadron is activating the Knowledge Operations Customer Support Function, and will provide oversight and program ownership of Knowledge Operations tools like the afore-named.

The Customer Support Function will be responsible for premier field support, disciplined processes for Knowledge Operations tool implementation, ACC-wide Knowledge Operations training and architectural stability for Knowledge Operations systems.

Microsoft Office SharePoint, Office Communications Suite (OCS), Task Management Tool (TMT) and Evaluation Management System (EMS) are prime examples of how we intend to revolutionize the way we capture and share information to improve awareness and collaboration. The 82 CSS is excited to share in a cultural change focused on active management of our knowledge and information -- not only maintaining its security, but also ensuring it remains current and viable.

For Knowledge Operations Tools assistance, utilize the following troubleshooting points of contact:
Tier 0 - Users contact your local Knowledge Operations Managers (KOM)
Tier 1 - If the issue cannot be resolved, your KOM will contact the base Comm Focal Point (CFP)
Tier 2 - If the issue cannot be resolved, CFP will contact the 82 CSS (KO CSF)
If you need further assistance, call the Customer Support Function at 225-7195, option 8 or DSN 575-7195.
