What do you do? I work in the Flight Service Center, where I receive aircraft parts that need to be turned in. I then process the turn-in and ship the assets to the corresponding depot for repair.

What will you remember about your deployment 20 years from now? The people I met here.

What's the most useful item you packed? Underwear.

When did you realize you "weren't in Kansas anymore;" aka your "Dorothy" moment? Right about the time the plane landed and I stepped out to nothing but sand and rocks.

What has been the highlight of your tour? I'm probably going to have to say the people are the highlight of my tour; it's always nice to make new friends. And the extra money!

What's the best part of the deployment? Being able to work out consistently.

The worst part? Being away from my wife Blair and my dog Sadie.

What new survival skill have you learned? Drink lots of water!

What do you do during down time? Work out and sleep

What is the first thing you will do when you return? Hug and kiss my wife while I eat pizza and lay in my bed!

What is the first thing you will eat when you return? PIZZA!

What insight experience will you take away from your time over there? The overall experience of how combined efforts can have such amazing results. Everyone working for one common goal and the ability we all have to carry each other through even the toughest times.

What do you miss the most? My wife, my dog, my bed and pizza. In that order.

How is your job that you are doing now different from the job back stateside? Here everything is amplified -- the work, the speed, everything.

Have you tried the local cuisine? No, I'm not that adventurous.

What do you think about what you hear on the news from what is going on stateside? I honestly don't really have time to watch the news. My day is consumed by work, physical fitness and sleep.

Do you have plans for any extra money that you might be making from this deployment? Yes, pay off all my debt!

About when are you to return? June.
