Langley to host Clean the Bay Day 2010

By Brenda W. Cook 633d Civil Engineer Squadron deputy base civil engineer

Langley will host the annual "Clean the Bay Day," June 5 from 9 a.m. to noon. This event usually attracts between 100-200 volunteers to remove debris along the shorelines of the base. Join the Langley community in keeping our shores and waterways clean and safe!

We will clean three zones along the shoreline:

  • Zone One: From Bayview Towers to the footbridge located along the running trail halfway between the Enlisted Club and the Air Combat Command fitness center;
  • Zone Two: From the footbridge to the Base Marina, and;
  • Zone Three: From King Street Bridge to Tidemill Creek.

All participants should arrive at the meeting location at Eagle Park no later than 8:30 a.m. Personnel will be assigned to teams and receive a safety briefing before beginning clean-up at 9 a.m.

To volunteer, e-mail 633ces.cea@langley.af.mil with your name, organization, phone number and whether or not you would like a certificate of participation or call us at 764-3987. For large groups, please fill out the this excel spreadsheet and e-mail it to 633ces.cea@langley.af.mil. We are also seeking zone captains to work the trucks and personnel to help sign in participants. If you would like to volunteer for one of these positions, please let us know.
