LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. –
The Office of Security Services is announcing a traffic pattern change in the vicinity of the Wythe Creek gate during the period of Sept. 21-24.
The Wythe Creek gate inbound traffic lanes will be closed daily at 9 a.m., Sept. 21-24. These lane restrictions will prohibit all inbound traffic after the morning rush. The Wythe Creek gate will be closed to all inbound traffic at 9 a.m. daily, and will remain closed for the remainder of the day. The OSS will continue to operate the security check points until 9 a.m. for the inbound traffic lanes. After 9 a.m., all traffic entering LaRC must use the main gate. Wythe Creek gate users may experience some minor delays.
During this same period, the Wythe Creek gate outbound lanes will remain open adjacent to the construction site. The Wythe Creek gate will resume normal operation on Sept. 27. Road users may want to use an alternate route to exit the center during peak travel times, however, exiting the center at the Wythe Creek gate will continue. Heavy equipment and site materials will cause congestion in the construction area. Speed limits in the area of the construction site will be strictly enforced for the safety of road users and construction workers. If your schedule and plans permit, please avoid the area during your daily commute.
