FORT EUSTIS, Va. –
During February, military installations and schools across the United States join for an annual prayer breakfast in coordination with National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C.
Joint Base Langley-Eustis came together at the Fort Eustis Club Feb. 10 to participate in the National Prayer Breakfast. Airmen, Soldiers, civilian employees and guests gathered in unity, food and fellowship to celebrate a day of prayer.
The breakfast kicked off with musical selections from Denise Collazo, a reading from the Old Testament Psalm 91 by Sgt. 1st Class Elaine Mitchell, Army Support Activity, and a prayer for the nation offered by Lt. Col. Donnie Yates, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command watch chief.
Keynote speaker Chap. (Col.) Howard Stendahl, Air Combat Command chaplain, presented a speech aimed at the soul of the warrior. Chaplain Stendahl's messages provided biblical principles in scriptures to illustrate the keys and standards that make up the healthy soul of a warrior.
