FORT EUSTIS, Va. –
Family members, friends and fellow brigade servicemembers filled the bleachers at Anderson Field House Wednesday night welcoming home Soldiers of the 510th Human Resources Company, Special Troops Battalion, and 567th Inland Cargo Transfer Company, 24th Transportation Battalion, 7th Sustainment Brigade, upon their successful completion of a 12-month deployment.
Approximately 200 Soldiers marched into the field house to the steady backbeat of Kid Rock and the thunderous applause of family members and leaders.
One word said it all for Lisa Miller, wife of Sgt. Neal Miller, as she stood waiting with their two daughters to welcome him home.
"Ecstatic," said Mrs. Miller, as a grin rapidly spread across her face. "I'm ecstatic to have him home."
Remarks were kept to a minimum as troops stood anxiously waiting for the command 'dismissed' officially releasing them from formation and into the welcoming arms of loved ones.
Words of support and patience were offered to the Soldiers' families by 1st Sgt. Jade James, command sergeant major, 24th Trans. Bn.
"I want to say thank you to the families for their non-stop support to our Soldiers throughout the deployment," said 1st Sergeant James. "I hope these families take time to bond together during this time of transition."
