FORT EUSTIS Va. –
The Family Advocacy Safety Education Seminar, one of many community programs offered by the Family Advocacy Program, is held at Fort Eustis each month. The seminar provides education on the dynamics present in abusive relationships, to include domestic violence and child abuse, signs and symptoms of child maltreatment, and information and resources that are available on post and in the community.
"Awareness and education are very important," said A.J. Brandt, Family Advocacy outreach manager. "Family Advocacy provides programs to help families identify these challenges and take steps toward developing healthy relationships."
The Eustis Family Advocacy Program is dedicated to the prevention, education, prompt reporting, investigation, intervention and treatment of spouse and child abuse. The program provides a variety of services to Soldiers and families to enhance their relationship skills and improve their quality of life. This mission is accomplished through a variety of groups, seminars, workshops, and counseling and intervention services.
