LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. –
In an effort to provide industry partners with additional insight into Air Force command and control operational requirements and priorities, Air Force senior leaders held Air Force Command and Control Industry Day at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Nov. 5.
Command and control is central to all of our daily military operations. Every Airman supports, in one way or another, C2 operations around the globe and the military cannot accomplish its missions without the capabilities our industry partners develop and field.
Lt. Gen. William Rew opened the conference and discussed Air Combat Command's role as the core-function lead integrator for AFC2, as well as the new challenges in contested environments.
The four panels of senior Air Force leaders addressed topics such as anti-access and area denial operations; C2 considerations across air, space and cyber domains; tactical C2 surveillance and battle management; and C2 Communications.
With more than 250 attendees and 116 companies represented, the Industry Day provided an effective forum to continue building the military's strong partnership with industry; a partnership Rew stated was necessary to be successful.
