Resolute Snapshot: Inauguration Edition

In this special edition of 'Resolute Snapshot', we take the time to recognize the efforts and contributions of Soldiers in the 53rd Movement Control Battalion for their mission to plan, coordinate and synchronize the inaugural parade in support of the 57th Presidential Inauguration, Jan. 21, 2013.

U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Kevin Woodard Jr.

COMPANY: 271st Movement Control Team, 53rd Movement Control Battalion, 7th Sustainment Brigade

HOMETOWN: Atlantic City, N.J.

TIME IN SERVICE: Nearly 8 years

OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALITY: Transportation Management Supervisor

AREA OF OPERATION DURING INAUGURATION: Joint Team Parade Parking NCOIC assigned to the Presidential Inauguration. He makes sure parade participants get to and from the parade route in accordance to the time line set for each group.

MOST IMPORTANT ARMY VALUE: "'Honor.' You have to have honor to be in the Army. It is not for everyone. It takes a lot to do what we do on a daily basis, like deploying overseas, working long hours and sacrificing other things we do for our great nation."

FEELINGS ABOUT INAUGURATION: "I take this very seriously because it is the 57th Presidential Inauguration. A lot of people will not get the chance to experience this so I want to do my best. I am glad to be here."

FUTURE GOALS: He wants to be a sergeant major one day and earn a bachelor's degree.
