JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. –
New storage rental facilities are now available for all U.S. service members, civilian employees, dependents and retirees with access to Joint Base Langley-Eustis.
Located on Pershing Avenue at Fort Eustis, the storage facility provides customers with container options to protect household goods or motorcycles in single-car garage-style units. Renters must provide their own locks and will have 24-hour access to their containers.
“Although the units themselves are outside, renters will have the convenience of securing their household goods on the installation,” said Antonio Porter, JBLE Exchange general manager. “The goods inside are controlled and protected against moisture, mold and all weather conditions.”
The Army Family Action Plan requested the service based on a survey that revealed residents’ concern for lack of storage space in Balfour Beatty housing at Fort Eustis.
“Residents initially voiced their concerns during a focus group,” said Sharon Rector, Army Community Service community readiness consultant. “This was one of the top issues that AFAP then focused on during our annual forum.”
There are currently two container sizes available, but additional sizes can be made available to accommodate a high demand of customer needs. Active Duty service members will have priority if there is an excessive amount of rental requests.
