COMMAND SGT. MAJ. JAMES T. HERRINGTON

Command Sergeant Major James T. Herrington is the Command Sergeant Major, 733d Mission Support Group, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, VA.  He is the primary advisor to the commander for all matters pertaining to training, operations, maintenance, and force development for over 615 Army and Air Force personnel.   The 733d Mission Support Group is comprised of two squadrons and one division providing wartime and peacetime mission support and quality of life for the 633d Air Base Wing, Headquarters United States Army Training and Doctrine Command, four United States Army brigades, Headquarters Joint Task Force Civil Support, and numerous other associate units and mission partners. The unit carries out deployment operations, construction, security, facility maintenance, supply and transportation for a base community totaling over 7,780 acres and hosting 23,000 active duty, Guard and Reserve, Department of Defense civilians, and retired personnel.

Command Sergeant Major Herrington was born in New Jersey and joined the Army in 1991.   He has served in every enlisted position from team leader to Command Sergeant Major and has supported or deployed in support of every major contingency operation.
