Chief Master Sgt. David A. Kolcun

Chief Master Sergeant David A. Kolcun serves as the Command Chief, 633d Air Base Wing, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va. He is the primary advisor to the Commander for all matters pertaining to training, operations, maintenance, and force development for more than 18,000 Air Force and Army personnel. The 633d Air Base Wing provides installation support to more than 100,000 military, civilians, retirees, and family members. The wing’s two Mission Support Groups and Medical Group ensure base support for a multitude of units to include Air Combat Command, United States Army Training and Doctrine Command, four operational wings, eight Army brigades, and 47 major associate units
Chief Kolcun was raised in Tampa, Florida and entered the Air Force in April 1995 as a Health Services Management Apprentice. Throughout his career, he’s held various leadership positions at the squadron, wing, and headquarters levels, as well as serving as a First Sergeant for Aircraft Maintenance, Mission Support, and Security Forces units in both stateside and deployed locations. Chief Kolcun also served as a Legislative Fellow in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senior Enlisted Advisor at the Department of the Air Force level where he helped guide policy decisions ranging from professional development to strategic basing and force structure. In addition to being deployed to Central America and the Middle East in support of overseas contingency operations, he’s completed tours of duty in Texas, South Korea, Florida, Washington D.C., and Arkansas.
Prior to assuming his current position, he served as the Command Chief for the 305th Air Mobility Wing, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey.
