COLONEL MICHAEL P. POST

Col. Mike Post enlisted in the ARNG in 1990 as a 11B Infantryman. In 1997, he graduated from Saint Cloud State University (SCSU) and earned his commission in the Army Ordnance Corps. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from SCSU; a Master’s of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University (2011), and a second from Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy (2019).

Col. Post’s command assignments include Delta Company, 4th Brigade Support Battalion (BSB), 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas and Iraq; 101st BSB, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas and in the Republic of Korea.

Col. Post key staff assignments include three years as the Battalion S3 with 4th BSB, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood, Texas and Iraq; Brigade S4 for 2nd Brigade Combat Team, Support Operations Officer (SPO) and Executive Officer / Provisional Battalion Commander of the 526th BSB, 2BCT, 101st Air Assault Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and Afghanistan; Distribution Integration Branch Chief, 8th Theater Sustainment Command, Fort Shafter, Hawaii; Chief, Military Service Support Division and Chief, Agency Synchronization Operations Center, Defense Logistics Agency at Fort Belvoir, Virginia; and Operation Warp Speed / Countermeasures Acceleration Group where he supported the acceleration of the testing, supply, development, and distribution of a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine for the American public.

Major deployment history includes Operation Joint Forge SFOR5, Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1999; Operation Iraqi Freedom I (OIF) from 2003-2004; OIF-4 from 2005-2006; Operation Enduring Freedom 10-11; and the 3rd Korean Rotational Force, an Armored Brigade Combat Team to the Republic of Korea from 2016-2017.

Col. Post’s awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal (2), Meritorious Service Medal (5), Army Commendation Medal (2), Army Achievement Medal (3), Presidential Unit Citation, Valorous Unit Award (2), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Combat Action Badge, Airborne, and Air Assault Badges.

Col. Post is married to the former Kari Pikus of Sartell, Minnesota. They have three children, two sons, Logan (21) and Liam (18), and their daughter, Codi (19).
