Command Sergeant Major Bradley W. Schemmel

              Command Sergeant Major Bradley W. Schemmel is a native of Staples, Minnesota.  He entered the United States Army in September of 1990.  He completed both Basic Combat Training and Advance Individual Training at Fort Dix, New Jersey earning the Military Occupational Specialty of Transportation Operator (88M). 

            Command Sergeant Major Schemmel’s previous assignments include; Vehicle Operator and Squad Leader, 546th Trans CO, Fort Bragg, N.C.; Chauffeur, HHC 46th CSG, Fort Bragg, N.C; Team and Squad Leader, 32nd Trans Co, Fort Carson, CO; Team and Squad Leader, 360th Trans Co, Fort Carson, CO; Division Master Driver, HHC, 2nd INF DIV, Camp Casey, Korea; Squad Leader, Section Sergeant and Platoon Sergeant, HHT, 1-10 CAV, Fort Hood, TX; Platoon Sergeant, D.             Command Sergeant Major Schemmel’s military awards include; the Bronze Star Medal (3rd Award), the Meritorious Service Medal (4th Award), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (7th Award), the Army Achievement Medal (5th Award), the Valorous Unit Award, the Meritorious Unit Award (2nd Award), the Army Good Conduct Medal (9th Award), the National Defense Medal (bronze star), the Korean Defense Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal (two bronze stars), the Iraqi Campaign Medal (1 silver star), the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (numeral 4), the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Ribbon (numeral 4), the Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), the Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), the Combat Action Badge, the Driver’s Badge, the Order of Saint Christopher and the Noble Patron of Armor Award. 

            Command Sergeant Major Schemmel’s civilian education includes a Bachelor’s Degree (2005) in Criminal Justice from Troy University, a Master of Arts Degree (2014) in Homeland Security from American Military University and he is currently working on his doctorate degree from Capella University in Public Safety with a specialization in Emergency Management.

            Command Sergeant Major Schemmel is married to the former Anita D. Sims and together they have four children; Isaiah (24), Cristian (12), Brandon (8) and Noah (6).
