JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. –
The Tidewater Military Health System will host several TRICARE
events in the coming months open to beneficiaries across the region.
The current schedule features events such as health fairs,
retiree benefits and TRICARE for Life briefings.
According to Michael Kirshner, TMHS marketing specialist,
the TMHS hosts these events and makes them available to every beneficiary regardless
of home or duty location, because TRICARE benefits are the same across the
board.
“[The TMHS’s role is]
to bring together all the services with one goal in mind and that goal is to
help our beneficiaries understand and be able to take advantage of all TRICARE
has to offer,” said Juanita Smallwood, TMHS Beneficiary Counseling and
Assistance Coordinator.
The TMHS enhanced Multi-Service Market located in Hampton
Roads is comprised of McDonald Army Health Center, Naval Medical Center
Portsmouth and U.S. Air Force Hospital Langley. The TMHS provides inpatient and
outpatient primary, specialty, surgical subspecialty, intensive care,
emergency, dental and health support services to TRICARE eligible
beneficiaries.
