​When you arrive at JBLE-Langley, you'll have to make a few stops to ensure you in-process properly.

If you arrive at Langley AFB during normal duty hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, report directly to your gaining unit's commander's support staff.

Personnel arriving after duty hours should report to 24-hour Base Lodging Office, 44 Taylor Rd. 757-764-4667

Dormitory Living: If you are single with no dependents you will be assigned to a dormitory room. For entry, contact your sponsor, supervisor or first sergeant. Do not sign into lodging; fees will not be reimbursed.

On the next duty day, report to your gaining unit.

Personnel must be in uniform during in-processing. Members must have several copies of their orders and all hand-carried records received from their previous base.

Once you check in with your gaining unit, navigate to the Langley Finance page to see options for claiming your travel voucher, updating your BAH, and ensuring all your other entitlements are accurate.

The Rental Partnership Program aides military members in obtaining adequate housing in the community. The MHO/HSO and local landlords enter into agreements to offer service members special rental benefits above what other tenants receive. Benefits include a waiver of security deposit, no application fee, no credit check fee and a 5% discount on market rental rates. Contact the MHO/HSO for more information about this program. Upon your arrival, stop by the housing office in order for one of the counselors to verify your eligibility to participate in Rental Partnership Program (RPP).

Once the process is complete, you will be provided all information needed in order to be a participant.  The partnering apartment communities offers "military only” assigned to JBLE-Langley good deals which may reduce rent, waive security deposits, application fees, and credit checks in exchange for a signed lease and rent paid by allotment.


BAH ENTITLEMENTS | Select which is applicable to you:    

  1. If you’re at JBLE-Langley in a TDY status, you might need to verify with your finance personnel whether you will need to provide them with a "non-availability" and/or a “Memo” from the dorm staff stating you are authorized BAH and per diem.
  2. E-5s and above will draw BAH based on your declared dependency status
    BAH will start at the JBLE-Langley rate as soon as you file your travel voucher.
  3. ​​​​​​E-4s and below:
    1. Those with dependents established on their orders will draw BAH. BAH will start at the JBLE-Langley rate as soon as you file your travel voucher.
    2. E-4s with >3 years of service (with or without custodial dependents) will draw BAH.  However, you do have to follow the procedures for obtaining the entitlement.  
      Stop at the Consolidated Dorm Management Office (CDMO) located at 37 Cedar Ave, bldg. 123 to start the process.
    3. Those who are married to a military spouse (any branch):  Occupancy in the dorms and/or BAH entitlement is determined by installation assignment of each member.  DO NOT sign a lease prior to BAH acquisition.  Occupancy in the dorms may still be required.  Stop by CDMO or the Housing Referral office to determine eligibility.

Personnel must wear duty uniform during in-processing at Fort Eustis. Members must have their personnel records, all PCS orders, DA orders, DA Form 31, medical, dental, and financial records.

Newcomers Orientation: Soldiers are required to attend. Spouses are highly encouraged to attend the monthly Uniquely Eustis Spouse Orientation held the last Thursday of the month at Army Community Service. The orientation offers essential information about the installation, community resources and programs beneficial to families. For more information, contact Army Community Service at (757) 878-3638.

Personnel staff members at JBLE will need copies of your orders, leave form, military personnel file, medical and dental records and new addresses so they can update your military records, insurance, emergency data card and change of address card. Your ID card will be checked and a new one issued, if necessary.

Uniforms: The year-round duty uniform for Soldiers at JBLE is the Army Combat Uniform (ACU). When reporting during duty hours, you must report in either ACUs or any authorized variation of the Army Service Uniform/ ASU. After duty hours, you may report in civilian clothes.

SPOUSES ORIENTATION | Spouses are highly encouraged to attend the Uniquely Eustis Spouse Orientation held the last Thursday of each month (except December), 9:00-12:30. The spouse orientation provides information about the installation and community with a focus on spouse employment and family resources. JBLE's Veterinary Clinics are available to care for pets, and can ensure man's best friend is happy and healthy.

The Fort Eustis Veterinary Branch provides outpatient services for pets of active-duty and retired military personnel and their families at the Fort Eustis and Langley Air Force Base Veterinary Treatment Facilities. The Fort Eustis VTF operates clinics for immunizations, parasite control and diagnosis and treatment of diseases that pose a potential threat to the health of the command and its animal population. The clinic does not provide surgical, extensive medical or emergency care. Routine services are available for pets of all personnel authorized medical care. Pets living on post must be registered within 10 days of arrival at the Fort Eustis VTF. Owners must provide proof of a current rabies vaccination. Animal care services are by appointment only.

SERVICES (by appointment only) :

  • Vaccinations for dogs and cats (rabies only for ferrets)
  • Limited sick call (pets can be seen for all problems although cannot be treated for all, civilian veterinarian care will be recommended)
  • Emergency care to save life, limb, or eye sight. Pet will be stabilized then referred to a civilian veterinarian. All other emergencies must seek civilian care
  • Limited diagnostics heartworm/ehrlichia/lyme checks for dogs, leukemia/feline infectious anemia for cats, skin/hair cultures for fungal infections, skin scapes formites, ear swabs for bacteria, fungus and mites, and fecal analysis for intestinal parasites


STRAY ANIMAL INFO:

  • Notify military police about all stray animals found on post.
  • Contact the nearest SPCA; Peninsula SPCA or Newport News Animal Control at (757) 595-7387
  • The Fort Eustis vet clinic WILL NOT take in stray animals.
