Saving lives since ‘72

The black smoke swirled around the young fireman as he helped fight the growing flames that threatened to consume the home. Through the rolling darkness that consumed him, a hand passed back what looked like a dirty rag. This was 15-year-old Jeffery Barbour’s first experience in a burning building after joining the Hampton Fire Department on July 10, 1972, following a long line of firefighting family members.

From treating minor abdominal pain to saving lives during emergencies, the 633rd Medical Group Emergency Medical Services personnel are here to assist patients who need to be seen by a doctor at the Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia emergency room. The 633rd MDG Emergency Medical Services section is comprised of two of the key elements; emergency room operations and ambulance services.
