Starting young: children learn leadership through sports

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — Around the world, millions of children participate in youth sports. Over 500 of those children play in programs at Langley Air Force Base.

The Joint Base Langley-Eustis soccer team placed second in the 2018 Defender’s Cup Armed Forces Soccer Tournament at the South Texas Area Regional Soccer Complex, San Antonio, Texas, from Aug. 31 through Sept. 3, 2018.

JBLE places second on the 2018 Defender’s Cup Armed Forces Soccer Tournament

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — The Joint Base Langley-Eustis soccer team placed second in the 2018 Defender’s Cup Armed Forces Soccer Tournament at the South Texas Area Regional Soccer Complex, San Antonio, Texas, from Aug. 31 through Sept. 3. The tournament put 37 installations from across the U.S. in competition to find out who is the top military soccer team in the nation.

DENTAC Soldier makes All-Army soccer team

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — U.S. Army Spc. Christian Arias Fernandez, a Dental Activity dental specialist assigned to Joint Base Langley-Eustis, returned from the All-Army team soccer camp at Fort Benning, Georgia, a tryout camp for soldiers from across the nation, as one of 19 members of the All-Army team.
