Soldier hosts 2nd annual Pride run

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — The month of June is nationally recognized as the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer or Questioning Pride Observance month to commemorate the Stonewall Riots, which spurred the ongoing fight for equal rights and fair justice for LGBTQ+ community members.

CFFC tours Eustis

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — Cage Fury Fighting Championship representatives, including CFFC president Robert Haydak, toured Fort Eustis’ Third Port, the 128th Aviation Brigade schoolhouse and the CH-47 Chinook helicopter hangars at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, Nov. 21, 2019. The mixed martial arts promotion company hosted the CFFC event for the JBLE community, which featured four preliminary fights and six main card fights.

Trick-or-treaters celebrate the spooky season

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — Service members and their families attended the 10th annual Night at the Transportation Museum Halloween event and the Fall Fest at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. Children dressed in costumes trick-or-treated, toured the museum’s live exhibits, walked through a haunted hangar and a Chinook helicopter, played games and made crafts.

Steps to redemption: A Soldier’s ambition to cross the finish line

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Racing through Washington D.C. on an unusually hot and humid autumn day, he spots mile-marker seven. Only three miles left to the finish line. He’s on his own amongst a horde of sweaty runners moving shoulder-to-shoulder, each trying to edge out the person next to them. He’s stranded, shuffling under a blanket of body heat as they charge down the course. In an instant, he’s down.

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — In 2009, President Barack Obama designated the month of June the official observance for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer or Questioning Pride Month. The observance promotes equal rights regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity and recognizes contributions made by LGBTQ community members.

AH-64 AIT repairers, masters of the airframe

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — U.S. Army Advanced Individual Training students assigned to the 222nd Aviation Regiment, 1st Aviation Battalion, 128th Aviation Brigade spend more than six months studying the Apache AH-64’s various systems and components during the AH-64 Armament/Electrical/Avionic Systems Repairer course at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.
