JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — She dives into the pool, as the cool water envelopes her body and she begins to feel weightless. She comes to the surface kicking and pulling, feeling the water begin to rush past her as she picks up speed until she’s at a full sprint… Preparation to be the fastest in the world has begun. “My mom threw me into a pool when I was a small child, and I’ve been swimming ever since,” said U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Genevieve Miller, 17th Intelligence Squadron deputy flight commander. “But I've been swimming competitively since I was five or six on a club team.”

Winter Storm Grayson dropped snow, temperatures in Hampton Roads

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — U.S. Air Force Airmen and U.S. Army Soldiers could still feel the aftermath of Winter Storm Grayson a week after the storm dropped close to 10 inches of snow on Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va.

Watercraft maintainers host first ‘Maintenance Rodeo’

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — The 558th Transportation Company, 10th Transportation Battalion, 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary) hosted its first “Maintenance Rodeo” competition at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Sept. 19-20.

Soldiers aid Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers assigned to Joint Base Langley-Eustis returned home Sept. 5, 2017, after supporting supply-delivery efforts for Texas residents stranded by flood waters following Hurricane Harvey.

Army celebrates 242nd year

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — U.S. Army Soldiers began the Army’s 242nd Birthday Celebration with a run and cake cutting ceremony at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va., June 14, 2017. The celebrations will continue throughout the week with a streamer ceremony and a Music Under the Stars concert, performed by the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Band, at Magnolia Park, at 7 p.m., June 15, 2017.
