Tidewater transitions to Defense Health Agency

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Raquel Bono, Defense Health Agency director, visited Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, May 29, 2019, to discuss changes for the military hospitals and clinics across the country. As part of the Military Health System’s transformation starting Oct. 1, 2019, the Defense Health Agency is assuming control of all Tidewater-area military hospitals and clinics including Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, McDonald Army Health Center and the U.S. Air Force Langley Hospital at JBLE.

Hampton community honors fallen heroes

HAMPTON, Va. — Joint Base Langley-Eustis and Hampton community members gathered together at the Hampton National Cemetery to pay respect to fallen members of the Armed Forces in honor of National Wreaths Across America Day in Hampton, Virginia, Dec. 15, 2018. Security, modernization projects come to Felker

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — Joint Base Langley-Eustis will begin several construction projects at Felker Army Airfield to keep up with constantly evolving technological developments in security and operations. The first of these projects includes new access gates to the airfield, providing additional security while minimizing the deer population on and around the runways.

Fort Eustis takes new approach with crash exercise

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va — Home to more than eight Department of Defense installations from each branch of service, Hampton Roads is constantly supporting military operations by air, land and sea. According to the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, the region boasts 36 military aircraft squadrons. Whether a U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor from Langley Air Force Base, a U.S. Army CH-47 Chinook from Fort Eustis, or U.S. Navy F/A-18 Hornets and Super Hornets from Naval Air Station Oceana, the region’s skies are rarely void of military aircraft traffic.

Services work together: Operation Resolute Endeavor II

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force personnel assigned to Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia partnered with U.S. Navy service members assigned to Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, Va., to participate in Operation Resolute Endeavor II Dec. 5 through Dec. 9, 2016. Operation Resolute Endeavor II was a joint exercise that trained units preparing for an upcoming deployment and tested the capabilities of the 633rd Security Forces Squadron, Army and Navy logistics units in a joint capacity.
