Empowering JBLE Airmen through any hurricane crisis

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — Chosen members from various units gather into the Emergency Operations Center, June 8, 2023. A simulated Category 2 hurricane was about to hit the base and it’s their mission to gather as much accurate information as possible and present it to senior leaders in a timely manner. This may only be a Continuity of Operations Plan Hurricane Functional Exercise, but JBLE will always be ready to protect the community and ensure the mission continues, by weathering through any natural disasters that come to our doorstep.

2019 Hurricane season readiness

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va — Hurricane season began June 1, and continues through November 30. The peak risk of hurricanes in the Hampton Roads area occurs late August through late October.

Hurricane season is from June 1 to Nov. 30, but can occur earlier or later than projected. Members are encouraged to build an emergency kit and have a plan to prepare for possible emergency situations.
