National Nutrition Month: Puts Best Fork Forward
March 8, 2017 — National Nutrition Month is an educational campaign organized every March by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, which is designed to emphasize the importance of developing and maintaining healthy eating choices and physical activity habits. This year’s theme for the campaign is ‘Put Your Best Fork Forward,’ which acts as a reminder that each bite counts and how simple changes in food choices can have positive effect over time. The theme is geared toward encouraging individuals to start with small changes in eating habits, such as preparing meals at home or making healthy selections while out. ... MORE

Operation Warmheart: A time to give
November 16, 2016 — The First Sergeant Council is hosting its annual Operation Warmheart Thanksgiving basket drive at Langley Air Force Base, Va., beginning Nov. 7 through Nov. 20, 2016. This year, they hope to gather enough food and money to deliver more than 500 Thanksgiving baskets. Operation Warmheart, a nonprofit organization, was established by the First Sergeants Council to manage, receive and distribute charitable funds to JBLE service members and families who are in need of assistance.
