Soldiers, Airmen participate in Joint Task Force training operations

Members from 689th Rapid Port Opening Element, 832nd Transportation Battalion, 597th Transportation Brigade and the 921st Contingency Response Squadron from Travis Air Force Base, California, participated in a training operation to prepare for Exercise Turbo Distribution. The exercise requires members of both the U.S. Air Force and Army to work together to move cargo swiftly while tracking its location accurately.

Military Sealift Command’s USNS Brittin arrived at the Port of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Nov. 3, 2017, loaded with power-generation equipment and other supplies after Hurricane Maria left the majority of the island without power in September. U.S. Army Soldiers from the 832nd Transportation Battalion, 597th Trans. Brigade based at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va., were waiting ashore to unload 500 pieces of equipment including generators, temporary living facilities, food and water.
