ACC CSS holds redesignation, inactivation, change of command

By Senior Master Sgt. Elaine A. Lewis ACC Communications Support Squadron

Air Combat Command redesignated the ACC Communications Group as the ACC Communications Support Squadron in a ceremony March 1 at Quesada Hall.

Lt. Col. Jeffery Brooks relinquished command of the 82 CSS to assume command of the newly-renamed ACC CSS. ACC subsequently inactivated the 82 CSS.

Brig. Gen. Steven J. Spano, ACC Director of Communications and Chief Information Officer, officiated the ceremony, presenting Colonel Brooks with the squadron guidon.

Colonel Brooks commands 250 communications and computer specialists providing a wide spectrum of support to ACC's warfighters. ACC CSS' mission is to provide premier communications support and near real-time situational awareness of command C2 systems, empower Airmen with knowledge-enabled capabilities and perform standards conformance testing on Air Force weapons systems.
