JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. –
Four top ranked athletes from the Ultimate Fighting Championship and three Mixed Martial Arts celebrities will visit Joint Base Langley-Eustis, April 6 through 8, 2017. The group will visit various locations throughout the installations to meet-and-greet with the JBLE community.
The visiting UFC fighters are Brad Tavares, Todd Duffee, Kevin “The Motown Phenom” Lee, Felice “Lil Bulldog” Herrig.
Tavares is a UFC Middleweight. After starting off his career 5-0, Tavares debuted in the UFC on the reality show “The Ultimate Fighter”. Since his stint on TUF, Tavares has had 13 fights in the UFC scoring victories over Phil Baroni, Lorenz Larkin and Nate Marquardt. He is coming off of a win over Caio Magalhaes at UFC 203 in September 2016. A Hawaiian at heart, Tavares now lives in Las Vegas and trains at Xtreme Couture.
Duffee is a UFC heavyweight who has fought in organizations all over the world including the UFC, Super Fight League and Dream. He holds the fastest KO in the UFC heavyweight history at seven seconds. All of Duffee’s victories have come by way of KO. Duffee has also worked in some acting roles and was on the cover of Muscle & Fitness magazine.
Lee is a UFC Lightweight who is currently on a three-fight win streak and is 15-2 overall. He won his last fight via second round submission over Francisco Trinaldo, earning a Main Event headline tilt at the UFC's upcoming Fight Night 112 card. Lee lives and trains out of Las Vegas at Xtreme Couture.
Herrig is currently the number 12 ranked strawweight in the UFC. Herrig started her career in Kickboxing and Muay Thai before transitioning into MMA, where she would compete in Bellator, Invicta and the UFC. Herrig was also featured on the Fight Girls reality show as well as the Ultimate Fighter and American Ninja Warrior. She is currently on a two-fight winning streak that includes victories over notables Kailin Curran and Alexa Grasso.
Joining them are MMA celebrities “Gorgeous” George Garcia, Brian “Goze” Garcia and Jacob “Stitch” Duran.
Duran, an Air Force veteran, has been a lifetime martial artist turned professional cutman for Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts. Stitch has worked with boxers like Andre Ward, Chris Algeri and the Klitschko brothers. Duran has also appeared in movies such as Here Comes the Boom, Oceans 11 and Creed. In 2010 "From the Fields to the Garden" Duran's Autobiography was released. His follow up was released in December 2016.
The Garcia brothers are the hosts of the award winning MMAjunkie Radio. In 2013 George and Goze visited troops in Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan. They are five-time world MMA award winners for best media source.
