Man on the street: ‘tis the season

By Airman 1st Class Derek Seifert 633rd Air Base Wing Public Affairs

With the holidays approaching, the 633rd Air Base Wing Public Affairs office asked members of Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia a few questions regarding the holiday season.

What are you thankful for?

“You get to be older like I am, you’re thankful for your health. Pretty much, as long as you got enough money to pay the rent and good health, that’s everything,” said U.S. Air Force retired Senior Master Sgt. Bill Fitzgerald.

“I’m thankful for the uniform, thankful for our troops and thankful to wake up every day,” said U.S. Army Capt. Eric Collier, Aid De Camp at Scott Air Force Base.

What traditions does your family have?

“Getting the family together and having a good time and watching football of course,” said Tom Iannaggi, Army Training Support Command publicist.

What are you doing for thanksgiving?

“Bringing in single Soldiers and feeding them because they can’t go home to their families,” said Jennifer Linzmeier, Fort Eustis Transportation Museum gift shop manager.

“Well I’m going to be with family and friends and the big thing is to thank god for everything he has provided for me, my family and the nation,” said U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Janio Anderson, 97th Transportation Company watercraft operator.

“I am cooking a ton of food. I have a bunch of friends coming over to just enjoy the holiday and relax and have a good time,” said U.S. Air Force Maj. Maura Warren, Air Combat Command Manpower and Personnel services director’s action group deputy.
