LTC Brian Johnson

LTC Brian Johnson commissioned as a Transportation Officer through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Campbell University in 2008.  From 2008 to 2012, he was assigned to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division at Fort Hood, TX and Fort Knox, KY where he served in various leadership and staff roles, deploying twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After graduating the Logistics Captains Career Course in 2012, LTC Johnson was assigned to Germany, serving as Assistant Brigade S4, 18th Engineer Brigade, Commanding the Forward Support Company, 15th Engineer Battalion, and as a Multi-National Exercise Planner for 7th Army Training Command.  In 2016, LTC Johnson was selected to the Major General (R) James Wright MBA program at the College of William and Mary with a follow-on assignment as the Course Manager for the Reserve Component Logistics Captains Career Course in Fort Lee, VA.  From 2019-2022, LTC Johnson served in the storied 3rd Infantry Division as a Support Operations Officer, Battalion Executive Officer, and Brigade Executive Officer in the 3rd Division Sustainment Brigade, including a deployment to Kuwait.  From 2022-2025, LTC Johnson served at US Transportation Command as a Joint Mobility Operations Officer and Speechwriter to the Combatant Commander.  LTC Johnson most recently served as the Chief, Joint Logistics Education Branch at Army Sustainment University.  He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Campbell University and a Master of Business Administration from the College of William and Mary. 

LTC Brian Johnson’s military education includes the Transportation Officer Basic Course, the Logistics Captain’s Career Course, Command and General Staff College, and the Joint and Combined Warfighting School.

LTC Johnson’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1OLC), Parachutist Badge, and the Basic Army Instructor Badge.

LTC Brian Johnson is married to Margaret, and they have two daughters, Katherine (9) and Juliana (8).
