Hot Tips for Cold Weather
Cooler weather is quickly arriving in the area. Please ensure you are familiar with changes to cold weather uniform wear policies. Outer garments are only authorized for wear outdoors and are required to be worn when cold weather accessories are worn. ABU authorized outer garments include the Green Fleece, the Improved Rain Suit (IRS) with or without liner, APECS, Cold-Weather Parka, and the Blue All-Weather Coat. Approved ABU under garments include thermal underwear (white, desert sand or cream colored), green or sand sleep shirt (must be tucked under the collar and not extend beyond bottom of blouse), and turtlenecks (desert sand). Gloves can be black or sage green. Black is the only authorized color w/ blue service uniform. Scarves must be black and tucked in. Earmuffs may be worn with all authorized outer garments and may wrap around either the top or rear of the head.

How to Read an Active Duty Air Force Leave and Earning Statement
This is a guide to help you understand your Leave and Earnings Statement (LES). The LES is a comprehensive statement of a member's leave and earnings showing your entitlements, deductions, allotments (fields not used for Reserve and National Guard members), leave information, tax withholding information, and Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) information. Your most recent LES can be found 24 hours a day on myPay.

Sideburns | Per Air Force Instruction 36-2903.1.5.7, Dress and Personal Appearance, "Sideburns must be neatly trimmed and tapered in the same manner as the haircut. They will be straight and of even width - not flared, but end in a clean shaven horizontal line. The sideburn will not extend below the lowest part of the exterior ear opening."

Look sharp, know the requirements.
