New Eateries at JBLE-Eustis - There are new restaurant options opening at JBLE-Eustis, with each having their own grand opening ceremony! 

- Sept. 29, Marcos Pizza (next door to the Eustis Community Recreation Center at 671 Victory Blvd) will have its ribbon cutting at 9 a.m.

- Sept. 29, Hunt Brothers Pizza (inside the Eustis Express at 704 Washington Blvd) will have its ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m.

- Oct. 4, Panda Express (inside the Eustis Exchange at 1386 Washington Blvd) will have its ribbon cutting at 10 a.m.

Anyone with authorized base access is welcome to attend these ceremonies!

2023 Retiree Appreciation Day Moved - The 2023 Retiree Appreciation Day planned for Saturday, Sept. 23 has moved to Saturday, Oct. 14, 9 a.m. to noon. All of the planned events and information booths will still take place. Construction Impact Notice - JBLE Langley - As the 633d Civil Engineer Squadron continues to complete asphalt repairs along Sweeney Blvd, there will be an additional closure for portions of Sweeney for the installation of the new Dominion Energy Feeder. Small portions of the Armstead Gate right inbound lane will be blocked off for construction equipment from 21 Aug – 25 Sep. The closures will be from 0900-1600 each day to minimize traffic impacts. As the work progresses along Sweeney Blvd, the blocked off work zone will slowly shift in the direction of construction. During this time, vehicles will be diverted to the adjacent lane with cones, barriers and signage to designate closures.

Army Education Center Graduation Ceremony Registration - The Herb Bateman Army Education Center will host a Graduation Recognition Ceremony, in observance of American Education Week, November 15, 2023, 10 A.M. 

This event is open to all service members, family members, and DoD civilians within the JBLE community who have graduated between September 2022 - September 2023.

If you are interested in participating, please contact Donald.l.gallimore.civ@army.mil.  A follow up email will be provided with a graduation questionnaire requesting further details.

The request must be submitted to Donald.l.gallimore.civ@army.mil no later than August 31, 2023.

1st Munitions Squadron Inventory - The 1st Munitions Squadron is conducting a 100% munitions inventory, September 24-30,  2023.

In accordance with DAFMAN 21-201, paragraph A3.2.1.7, the Munitions Accountable Systems Officer (MASO) will "Ensure inventory dates are published in available base media such as bulletins, email to customers, or SharePoint® sites to make munitions users aware of the inventory." Customers who have or require munitions may be affected. During the week of the inventory (September 24-30), personnel requiring assistance with 1 MUNS may experience delays.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Courses at Fort Eustis - Registration for 2023 Fall term ERAU on-site courses are now open!

ERAU is offering four courses for the 2023 Fall term at The Herb Bateman Army Education Center (1500 Madison Ave.). The last day to register using military tuition assistance is Monday, Oct. 9. For all others, the last day to register is Thursday, Oct. 19.

JBLE members recognized during VPCC annual breakfast

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — The Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce hosted a military recognition breakfast, on Sept. 7th, 2023. The annual event highlighted the enduring partnership between the VPCC and the military community.  During the event, Bob McKenna, VPCC president, noted five branches call the Peninsula home making the military a significant part of the community.

Khymchenko recently deployed to the United States European command, where he played a pivotal role working with senior leaders, as a translator. Khymchenko His experience and contributions led him to be named as one of the 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year and inspired him to pursue becoming an an officer as he continues to serve in the U.S. Air Force.

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — On Feb. 12, 2022, Senior Airman Kostiantyn Khymchenko’s life took an unexpected but welcomed turn when he received a vital phone call. “Hello?” he greeted. On the line was Master Sgt. Aaron Washington, 633d Civil Engineer Squadron heating, ventilation, and cooling noncommissioned officer in charge, with a life-altering opportunity.

1st Fighter Wing selects “Champions” for William Tell

JOINT- BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — JOINT- BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va.--After nearly two decades, the William Tell air-to-air-competition has returned, reinvigorating Air Superiority and demonstrating the U.S. Air Force’s lethal capabilities. The competition is slated to take place September 11-15, 2023, at the Air Dominance Center in Savannah, Georgia. The 1st Fighter Wing will compete in the air-to-air meet against other teams from across Air Combat Command, Pacific Air Forces and the Air National Guard.
