(Or something along those lines.) Usually it's followed up with "When I was an Airman, we had more (insert any of the following: respect, ethics, skill) and then of course, the always humorous "They have it so much easier/better than we did." I heard it MORE

Air Force friendships October 14, 2008 — Aug. 16 marked my one year anniversary of joining the Air Force. I took the oath of enlistment and kissed and hugged my family goodbye before flying down to San Antonio, Texas, for basic military training. Six and a half weeks passed. I MORE

Rule of Law: Consult the Langley Legal Office October 6, 2008 — The world of law can be intimidating. For the layman venturing into the world of law, trying to solve a legal problem without the guidance of a skilled attorney is very similar to having an attorney try to fix your plumbing. In both instances, the result is usually disastrous. Luckily, the Air Force recognizes that legal readiness helps contribute MORE

Campaign conundrum: Political participation by Air Force members September 30, 2008 — With campaign season upon us, active-duty Air Force and Reserve members need to be mindful of the guidelines and restrictions on political participation. This is an exciting time, and members naturally want to be involved in choosing new political leaders and our new commander-in-chief. However, there are still many ways for members to express MORE

Air Force Smart Operations for 21 Century September 29, 2008 — Have you heard the 1st Fighter Wing has a new Wing Staff Agency? It's the AFSO21 office. Chief's Corner - Followership September 25, 2008 — Without followers a leader accomplishes nothing!I've no doubt your response to my opening statement is "duh, no kiddin'."So, if we agree my opening line is a no-brainer, why does the word "follower" tend to conjure up negative images? If I describe someone as a great follower why would they likely take it as a dig rather than as a compliment?I'm MORE
